Keira Knightley
Knightley, born in London to the family that included actors Will Knightley & Sharman Macdonald at six years old, was first employed in TV commercials as well as films. She had a minor role as Sabe in the science fiction film Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999). Following her international success through the fantasy TV series Pirates of the Caribbean in 2003 when she played Elizabeth Swann (a swashbuckling footballer) She was then able to get her first role in the film sports Bend It Like Beckham in which she played the tomboy. Knightley was described as the next big thing in the world of teenage stars after being featured for the role of Love Actually (2003). Knightley got the Academy Award nod for Best Actress in 2005 for her portrayal of Elizabeth Bennet, the heroine of the romantic historical novel Pride & Prejudice. As well as Atonement the film, she also appeared as Georgiana Cavendish and the main character in The Duchess and Anna Karenina's titular socialite. She forayed into contemporary dramas with her role as an aspiring musician as a musician in Begin Again (2013) and as a medical student in Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (2014). Knightley returned to historical films in the role of Joan Clarke in The Imitation Game (2014) which earned her an nomination for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress she also acted as the writer whose name is Colette (2018).
