Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn (born Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn) is an American actor working on television, film and theater. Talented as a thespian, she's been active in the professional world since the past 27. Her first appearance on stage as a character in a production in 1990 of The Big Funk (John Patrick Shanley) Off-Broadway. The Perfect Tribute was her first role on TV within a year. In 1992 she got her big break by being a part of Basic Instinct as a minor role. The Firm was the film where she became the leading female for the first and sole time. This was opposite Tom Cruise, Gene Hackman and others. In the 90s, she worked with some of the biggest actors in the business, including Gwyneth Paltrow on Sliding Doors Hugh Grant in Mickey Blue Eyes and Julie Andrews in Relative Values. She played the role of Dr. Alex Blake on the well-known international crime drama Criminal Minds.
